You've got your sofa sorted. Whether it's just arrived from us or you've had it a while, the right accessories make a huge difference — to how it looks, how long it lasts, and how easy it is to keep clean.
Here are the things genuinely worth buying, all available on Amazon, all under £30.

1. Fabric Sofa Cleaner Spray — £8–£12
The single most useful thing you can buy for a fabric sofa. A good upholstery cleaner deals with everyday marks, light stains, and general freshening without damaging the fabric.
Look for one suitable for your fabric type — most are multi-surface and work on velvet, chenille and standard weave. Spray lightly, blot with a clean cloth, leave to dry.
Keep one under the sink from day one. A stain treated immediately is a stain that comes out. A stain left for a week is a stain you're living with.
2. Bicarbonate of Soda (Large Pack) — £4–£7
Sounds too simple. It works better than most specialist products for odour removal.
Sprinkle it generously over the whole sofa, leave overnight, vacuum thoroughly in the morning. It draws out and neutralises odours including pet smell, mustiness and the general lived-in smell that builds up over time. A 500g pack costs less than £5 and lasts months of regular use.
3. Sofa Throw — £12–£25
A good throw does three things: protects the sofa fabric from daily wear, hides any minor imperfections, and completely transforms the look of a room.
For a grey or cream fabric sofa, a chunky knit throw in mustard, terracotta or navy adds colour and warmth instantly. For a leather sofa a faux fur or woven throw softens the look and protects the arm where wear usually starts.
Buy two — one to use and one in the wash.
4. Cushion Covers (Set of 4) — £12–£20
New cushion covers are the fastest, cheapest way to refresh a sofa that's looking tired — or to make a preloved sofa feel completely yours from day one.
Most standard sofa cushions are 45×45cm or 50×50cm. Buy a set of four in a complementary colour and the whole sofa looks intentional rather than temporary.
5. Leather Conditioner (for Leather Sofas) — £8–£15
If your sofa is real leather, conditioning it once every few months keeps it supple and prevents cracking. A leather sofa that's regularly conditioned can last decades. One that isn't will start to crack within a few years.
Furniture Clinic and Leather Honey are both excellent and widely available on Amazon. Apply with a soft cloth, buff in circular motions, leave to absorb. Not for faux leather — condition real leather only.
6. Sofa Arm Covers / Protectors — £8–£15
The arms of a sofa take more wear than anywhere else — from hands, pets and general use. Arm covers protect the fabric and are far cheaper than re-upholstering or replacing early. Also useful if you have a cat that likes to scratch.
7. Anti-Slip Rug Gripper — £6–£10
If you're adding a rug in front of the sofa — which we'd strongly recommend for any living room — a non-slip underlay keeps it exactly where you put it. Without one it'll shift every time someone sits down or gets up.
A cheap but genuinely annoying problem to have. Costs less than £10 to solve permanently.
8. Sofa Cover / Protector (for Families or Pets) — £18–£28
If you have children or pets, a sofa cover is worth every penny. It sits over the sofa, protects the fabric from hair, claws and spills, and comes off for washing.
A decent one is almost invisible on the sofa and adds months or years to the life of the fabric underneath.
